Speed Up Your Journey with Tatkaal
The Tatkaal scheme is a "Fast Track" service provided by the Ministry of External Affairs. It is designed for applicants who need their passports urgently. While normal passports can take 20-30 days, Tatkaal passports are often dispatched within 1 to 3 working days.
Post-Verification
In Tatkaal, police verification typically happens after the passport is issued, ensuring no delay.
Priority Processing
Tatkaal applications are flagged for priority processing at every stage of the workflow.
Who is NOT Eligible?
Most citizens can apply for Tatkaal, BUT the following categories usually fall under the Complex Category and may not be accepted under Tatkaal:
- X Applicants with Adverse Police Record
- X Major Change in Name
- X Residents of J&K (Restrictions apply)

The "3 out of 13" Document Rule

Tatkaal Fees Structure
The Tatkaal fee is an Addition to the normal passport fee. You pay the normal fee online, and the Tatkaal fee is usually paid at the passport office in cash or online depending on the status.
For Fresh Application (36 Pages)
Don't risk a Tatkaal Rejection.
Tatkaal applications are scrutinized heavily. One missing document can lead to conversion to "Normal" application.
